Das Trio LDL ist aus dem um Thomas Lehn zum Quartett LDP+L erweiterten Trio LDP hervorgegangen. Elemente, die bereits im Quartett mit Barre Philips stil- und formprägend wirksam gewesen sind, setzen sich in der Dreieckskonstellation des LDL-Trios fort und entfalten sich in der Gegenüberstellung der beiden Tasteninstrumente – dem akustischen Klavier und dem analogen Synthesizer, beide technisch miteinander wechselwirksam klangmodulierend verkoppelt – und der Verankerung von Urs Leimgruber's Sopransaxophon Zentrum des Klangbildes.

Das Resultat ist eine hochentwickelte Kultur musikalischer Improvisation, deren Basis das feine, höchst sensible Aushören des Klangraumes bildet. Und der Klangraum umfasst hier sowohl das musikalische Geschehen der individuellen und kollektiven Spielprozesse, als auch den Raum selbst, in welchem der kreative Akt stattfindet, einschließlich seiner akustischen Beschaffenheit und der Raum-transformier-enden Publikumpräsenz.

The trio LDL emerged from the trio LDP, which was expanded to form the quartet LDP+L with the addition of Thomas Lehn. Elements that had already been effective in shaping style and form in the quartet with Barre Philips continue in the triangular constellation of the LDL trio and unfold in the juxtaposition of the two keyboard instruments - the acoustic piano and the analogue synthesizer, both technically coupled with each other for mutual sound processing - and the anchoring of Urs Leimgruber's soprano saxophone at the center of the sound image.

The result is a highly developed culture of musical improvisation substantially based on the fine, highly sensitive listening into the sound space. And the sound space here includes both, the musical events of the individual and collective creative processes, as well as the space itself in which the creative act takes place, including its acoustic nature and the space- transforming presence of the audiences.
